𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 29, 2025 | 𝐋𝐆𝐔𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐒𝐎𝐬: 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞-𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞

Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development (PLCPD) and We Effect brought together stakeholders from LGUs and CSOs in a policy forum to foster collaboration on local policy development and enhance participatory governance.

Among the highlights of the forum was a showcase of the policy advocacy journey by DISCERN’s partner CSOs: the 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗜𝗣𝗖𝗦𝗘𝗗), 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼 (𝗦𝗠-𝗭𝗢𝗧𝗢), 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗨𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 (𝗟𝗨𝗣𝗔 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀), and the 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 (𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗕𝗔).

PLCPD is proud to have contributed to strengthening the capacities of partner organizations in advocacy work. These narratives highlighted both the challenges and breakthroughs in engaging local governments, effectively surfacing key policy issues related to gender equality, adequate housing, and environmental and economic resilience.
