World Children’s Day Celebration 2025: A Commitment to Fulfill the UNCRC in the 20th Congress
Happy World Children’s Day!
In 1990, the Philippines made a promise — to protect and fulfill the rights of every child by signing and ratifying the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC).
Today, as we celebrate World Children’s Day, we renew the call to turn that promise into action through comprehensive, responsive, and inclusive laws for every child in the Philippines.
This year’s theme by organizations and legislators working for child rights reforms is: “From Commitment to Action: Advancing Children’s Rights Through Legislative Reforms in the 20th Congress.”
From November 17 to 20, in celebration of the National Children’s Month, the Child Rights Network and its Convenor, the Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development, together with the House Committee on the Welfare of Children chaired by Congresswoman Richelle Singson and other champion legislators, led the opening of exhibits and a series of policy dialogues at the House of Representatives. These activities are part of continuing efforts to uphold the country’s commitment to the UN CRC.
Legislators affirmed their commitments through the interactive exhibits, while the dialogues provided a platform to amplify evidence, share community voices, and strengthen the push for reforms that will protect and empower the nation’s almost 40 million children.
We thank our partners, Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation, Save the Children Philippines, Amaya Lay Mindanao, World Vision Philippines, PETA ARTS Zone Project, UNFPA Philippines, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, UNICEF Philippines, and UNHCR Philippines, for making the exhibits and dialogues possible.
